System Requirements
AlphaGyro Studio runs on macOS and Windows. A GPU greatly speeds up preview and rendering, but it is not mandatory: without one, processing happens on the CPU.
| macOS | Requirement |
|---|---|
| System | macOS 12 Monterey or later |
| Apple Silicon | M1, M2, M3, M4 or newer (Apple Silicon or Universal installer) |
| Intel | 64-bit Intel processor with a Metal-capable GPU (Intel or Universal installer) |
| Acceleration | Metal for processing and VideoToolbox for video decoding and encoding |
| Windows | Requirement |
|---|---|
| System | Windows 10 version 21H2 or later, or Windows 11, 64-bit (x64) |
| Graphics | DirectX 11 or DirectX 12 |
| GPU | Recommended, with up-to-date drivers (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) |
| Hardware encoder | NVENC (NVIDIA), AMF (AMD) or Quick Sync (Intel), when available |
Memory and Storage
| Item | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| RAM | 8 GB | 16 GB; 32 GB for 4K 10-bit |
| GPU | Optional (the app uses the CPU without one) | Dedicated GPU or Apple Silicon, with current drivers |
| Disk space | 500 MB for the application | Free space for renders (see below) |
How Much Space Renders Take
The final file size depends on codec, resolution, frame rate and the bitrate you choose. As a practical reference: HEVC and H.264 take roughly as much as the original Air Unit file; ProRes takes several times more, so reserve plenty of space if you export ProRes in 4K.
About 4K at 120 fps
Exporting 4K/120 depends on the hardware encoder: not every encoder accepts that combination in every codec. When your hardware cannot do it, the app tells you before starting and offers alternatives. Help → Diagnostics shows the GPU, decoders, encoders and codecs available on your machine.
Keep Drivers Up to Date
On Windows, many render and preview issues come from outdated video drivers. Install the latest driver from your GPU vendor (NVIDIA, AMD or Intel) before opening a ticket.
